The design above were created by using a view finding technique: the purpose for using a process of view finding is to find the most interesting,
detailed, complexed area in the A1 designs, and elements of the sketchbook designs. I
found this process easier, due to it eliminating the white backgrounds, eliminating certain
areas of the marbled paper and it started to begin further development. By
using the process it helped bring out the hand drawn element, the sharpness
of the coloured paper with the rawness of the lines, the detailed colour blocking that made the designs bold in the first place.
By playing with the scans further in photoshop by placing them in repeat, mirroring, scaling areas, descaling areas, cropping certain areas and doing further view findings. It gave me a diversity of designs, that allowed me to have further room for development due to certain designs wanting to be more graphic, complex and some even more minimal.

With having a diverse range of motifs and patterns, it was clear that this project has now begun to evolve and has became its own.
Now with this being project 1, it was clear it needed a new context and has potential to really portray the vibrant patterns..

To follow this further, my research needs to be looking at design elements of 3D, which through looking into Memphis art movement was always considered, as well as looking into commercial retail, which the designs could be contemporary furniture, if taken further then this will give me a good diversity into my portfolio.
